Burgundy En Primeur 2019

Burgundy En Primeur 2019

Our 2019 Burgundy En Primeur offer is now live. We're really excited about this much anticipated vintage which promises to be like no other.

The wines have wonderful acidity that keeps them moreish and fresh, with no sign of jammy or over-ripe flavours. Remarkably approachable now thanks to their impeccable balance, it’s clear both whites and reds have a long future ahead of them.

The reds are excellent and expressing a vibrant freshness, the slightly elevated alcohol levels are not out of balance. These are classic Burgundy, which show the terroir beautifully. The aromas are focused but meticulous, the freshness is tense and briny, the tannins are firm and delicate. Superb quality is there from the regional appellation to the Grands Crus, while production has fallen compared to 2018 and accessibility will therefore be limited.

White wine appellations saw even lower yields, and quality is heterogeneous. They're captivating, really. Most wines have got the balance just right and from Bourgogne Blanc to the famed slopes of Montrachet and Corton the fruit is glorious. Classic villages such as Meursault, Chassagne and Puligny have in general delivered a more serious and solid style, comparable to 2012.

Please browse and purchase directly on our website by clicking on this link or get in touch with our team by emailing to info@petershamcellar.com if you’d like to discuss any of the wines or place an order.

Wines will be ready for shipping to the UK by the end of year and we'll contact you once they've arrived. You will have the option to take delivery, or keep your wine in bonded warehouse.
