Philip Cabernet Sauvignon Castello di Fonterutoli 2021

Castello di Fonterutoli

Combining Chianti’s elegance and the opulence of up-and-coming Maremma, Philip is a great example of what Cabernet Sauvignon can achieve in Tuscany. The wine is dedicated to Philip Mazzei, an illustrious ancestor of the family, political thinker, American Patriot and pioneer, alongside Thomas Jefferson, of Virginia’s viticulture. A revolutionary wine using 100% Cabernet Sauvignon in an area mainly planted with Sangiovese, it embodies the modern spirit of Tuscan winemaking.

Aged 18 months in French and American oak barrels (30% new), less than 9,000 cases are produced each year. Intense aromas of blackcurrant and chocolate with hints of minerals and spice. Full-bodied with generous ripe fruits on the palate and a long and elegant finish. Perfect with game stews, matured blue cheese and spicy food.

We expect the wine to land in the UK in November 2023
