Chateau d'Yquem

Made by Château d’Yquem, famous for its outstanding Sauternes, Y is the exception of Yquem and has been produced every year since 2004. It is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon picked when the botrytis has just appeared to add some aromaticity.

Aged on the lees in oak barrels (1/3 new) for ten months. Aromas of citrus and white peach alongside hints of tangerine zest, guava, butter and subtle nuances of fresh oak. Elegant and delicate on the palate with a smooth texture and a mineral finish. Drinks well in its youth but it will also keep.

Wines are expected to land in the UK in December 2023

Lime and spicy pear with crushed stone. Kumquats. Smoke and iron. Kiwi. Full and rounded with bitter pear and steel. Dried limes. Unique minerality. Bright acidity. Touch of sweetness at the end that makes it fascinating. 65% sauvignon blanc and 35% semillon. September release. Drink or hold.
