Top Scoring Wines
By Talented Women
Today, we would like to highlight female talents in the wine industry. While we do not need a special occasion to celebrate women’s accomplishments, this is the perfect opportunity to highlight some fantastic wines from three of our favourite winemakers: Ondine de la Feld, Gabriella Ferrara and Adriana Occhipinti.
ONDINE DE LA FELD - Tenuta di Tavignano
Ondine de la Feld, second generation at Tenuta di Tavignano in Marche, has been pushing the boundaries of Verdicchio and produces some amazing and age-worthy whites which are starting to turn heads. Her 2018 Misco Riserva is a complex Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi which shows depth when matured, much like a Burgundian Chardonnay. All wines are certified organic.

GABRIELLA FERRARA - Benito Ferrara
In Campania, Gabriela Ferrara carries on the dedication started by her father, Benito, and has contributed to bring Greco di Tufo to the international scene. Vibrant and complex, her artisanal wines are aged on the lees for a few months to gain texture and are some of the best examples to be found within the DOC. All wines are certified organic.

ADRIANNA OCCHIPINTI - Occhipinti
Young winemaker Arianna Occhipinti is the rising star of Sicily and has featured in Stanley Tucci's TV Show "Searching for Italy". A pioneer in Vittoria, she keeps experimenting with unique clones, single sites and old vines. Arianna quickly realised the potential of local varietal Frapatto and decided to focus her energy on making 100% biodynamic and terroir-driven wines with a strong sense of identity. The results are astonishing and her wines keep receiving high scores from critics.
