Pecorino Offida Tenuta di Tavignano 2021

Tenuta di Tavignano

With a splendid view, in the municipality of Cingoli, the most beautiful Balcony of the Marche region, grow Pecorino grapes, an indigenous vine variety that gives fragrant and intense wines. The perfectly ripe grapes are harvested by hand. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks and the wine then matures for two months in the bottle before leaving the cellar. This Pecorino 2021 is bright straw yellow with an intense floral aroma and scents of ripe fruit. On the palate it has good acidity, very juicy in the mouth and with aromatic notes. A wine for fish throughout the meal and white meat dishes. Since 2018, the Tenuta di Tavignano estate has been certified organic at the vineyard, olive grove and arable level as well as at the winery level, thus allowing organic certification on the label. In 2021 Ondine de la Feld became CEO of Tavignano, and at the same time the green turn started. The company is conducting an eco-study programme to steer the company towards a sustainable future with the aim of minimising energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Marche

Marche

Marche is a region on the eastern side of central Italy. It stretches over a triangle delimited by the Apennine Mountains to the west and the Adriatic Sea to the east. Thanks to the various climates created by the influences of the Apennines, the Adriatic and the region’s rivers (the Metauro, Potenza, Tronto and Nera), wine producers cultivate in both warm and cool viticultural zones. Calcareous, clay and limestone-rich soils contribute to the distinctive terroir. Marche is best known as a white-wine region, although it is also home to some high quality reds. The principal white varieties here are the ubiquitous Trebbiano and Verdicchio, grapes that have been found in the Marches for over 600 years. The DOCGs Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi and Verdicchio di Matelica are the finest expressions of Verdicchio. Among the red wines of Marche, the finest are generally made from Montepulciano and Sangiovese, the dark-skinned varieties used in the intensely fragrant Rosso Conero Riserva. and an extensive system of hills descending towards the Adriatic sea.
