September Releases
Iconic wines are on their way...
Come September, Bordeaux doesn't just shine—it dazzles, casting its wine spotlight well beyond the borders of Gironde to embrace the illustrious realms of the global wine community. We will be attentive to the upcoming La Place Autumn Releases and this September, expect a wine revelation like no other!
What is La Place de Bordeaux?
La Place de Bordeaux was first created to distribute the finest wines from Bordeaux. This is a three-tier system where producers sell their wines to a network of negociants (known as a courtier). Then, the negociants sell the wines to the merchants. Recently, they have broadened the offer outside Bordeaux and now include iconic wines from Napa, Tuscany, Chile and more countries. These wines have the potential to enjoy similar investment performance than Bordeaux First Growths, giving the chance to any collectors to diversify their fine wine portfolios.
What to expect?
While our trusted ensemble of Opus One, Masseto, Almaviva, Solaia, Hommage a Jacques Perrin, and Vin de Constance reliably offer good return on investment, this year they're flanked by an even more thrilling array of international icons.
Think effervescent Champagnes, bold Australian masterpieces, and California's crème de la crème of cult wines. There are also strong expectations from Chile with high scoring Seña and Vinedo Chadwick as well as great results for Cheval des Andes.
What about Bordeaux? Be prepared for the delicious Y d’Yquem and the exquisitely refined Le Petit Cheval Blanc from Cheval Blanc.
The new 2020 vintage for Masseto and Solaia are also very promising as indications suggest a stunning year. The growing season began cool but transitioned into a warm, dry summer, culminating in most favourable harvest conditions by late September. While most critics are still to rate the wines, initial reviews from Antonio Galloni of Vinous allude to it being among the most impressive vintages since the exceptional 2016 releases.
